Over the past several days, I have been posting, on social media, different ways that I am praying for those affected by COVID-19. I write them as I think about them, pray for the topic on the spot, and try to include each in my regular prayers. I will collect any additions here to serve as a prayer list.

  1. Thinking of single moms who are scrambling with what to do, who will watch their kids, etc. You are loved and prayed for.
  2. Thinking of kids who depend on the schools for nutrition. You are loved and prayed for.
  3. Thinking of those who are paid hourly by the school system. You are loved and prayed for.
  4. Thinking of those who are student teaching and wondering how this impacts them. You are loved and prayed for.
  5. Thinking of those overworked right now, seeking to love others well through their vocation – providing medical care, food supply, and other needs. You – and your families – are loved and prayed for.
  6. Thinking of teachers who have content, passion, and creativity, but a limited outlet. You are loved and prayed for.
  7. Thinking of the seniors not knowing what this means for them and feeling robbed of their last year – memories with friends, school activities, etc. You are loved and prayed for.
  8. Thinking of the elderly who are scared and feel alone. You are valuable. You are loved and prayed for.
  9. Thinking of the professors who are working tirelessly to get classwork online. You are loved and prayed for.
  10. Thinking of small business owners who are wondering how this will impact them. You are loved and prayed for.
  11. Thinking of those in leadership positions laboring over difficult decisions. You are loved and prayed for.
  12. Thinking of substitute teachers whose only source of income is subbing for teachers when they are gone. You are loved and prayed for.
  13. Thinking of those planning special ceremonies and not knowing what this means for them or how their plans might change. You are loved and prayed for.
  14. Thinking of those who are losing all social connections during this time. You are loved and prayed for.
  15. Thinking of delivery drivers working long shifts and providing needed services. You are loved and prayed for.
  16. Thinking of custodians who are working extra to keep things clean. You are loved and prayed for.
  17. Thinking of those with newborns or those pregnant and looking forward to seeing their little one soon. You are loved and prayed for.
  18. Thinking of missionaries and all who serve others internationally. Those who are cut off from opportunities to love others in this way. Also, the recipients who are cut off from the spiritual and physical help. You are loved and prayed for.
  19. Thinking of those who work in high traffic areas: guest services, cashier, teller, etc. who are worried about themselves or transmitting the virus to a loved one. You are loved and prayed for.
  20. Thinking of caregivers working in nursing homes, hospice facilities, or in homes. Dealing with confusion and fear from patients who can’t process what is happening. You are loved and prayed for.
  21. Thinking of waiters/waitresses, bartenders, etc. who face financial setbacks and uncertainty. You are loved and prayed for.
  22. Thinking of those who suffer from depression or anxiety disorders. Many who depend on a schedule and routine that has been thrown in disarray. You are loved and prayed for.
  23. Thinking of military spouses and families who are without much of their support network. You are loved and prayed for.
  24. Thinking of those with autism, and parents of autistic kids, and how this affects them. Much needed consistency and additional care have been compromised. You are loved and prayed for.
  25. Thinking of those in the hospital, and those with loved ones in the hospital. Now having limited opportunities to see loved ones and either be an encouragement or be encouraged. You are loved and prayed for.
  26. Thinking of those with diabetes or who have children with diabetes. You are used to being alert and aware of things that others don’t even think about, and this adds another dimension. You are loved and prayed for.
  27. Thinking about those who work for the postal service. Struggling themselves while trying to serve others well who are worried and anxious. You are loved and prayed for.
  28. Thinking about parents now separated from their children in the NICU. You are loved and prayed for.
  29. Thinking of those who are now laid off or worried about being laid off soon. You are loved and prayed for.
  30. Thinking of those who just began their dream job. Anticipation and excitement now fading, some worrying that this was their only shot. You are loved and prayed for.
  31. Thinking of those who just made a major purchase. Something often filled with second-guessing, now exacerbated. You are loved and prayed for.
  32. Thinking of those now working from home. Trying to learn a new normal and balance various responsibilities. You are loved and prayed for.
  33. Thinking of homeschool families. While others may think this is your normal, you are cut off from co-ops, activities, etc. that are part of the regular routine. You are loved and prayed for.
